Have You Ever Been Tempted To Make Money Online?
If you are like me then the make money online question can be answered in a resounding YES! I have to admit it is tempting when you read the offers that find their way into your spam folder or even the ones that slip past my spam filter and fill up my in box. The headlines are so compelling that it makes me think the sender has been a lifelong friend and/or that this must be a can’t lose proposition. Look at these headlines and see what I mean:
– I will pay you just for clicking your mouse
– Free Traffic Without Lifting A Finger!
– Get paid $ 125.00 Now!
– Make a HUGE Amount of Money Quickly And Easily!
Who would not want to get paid for just clicking a mouse, without lifting a finger and have it happen now, huge amounts of money quick and easy… wow. I question what the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) would have to say about many of these ridiculous claims. Yes some of the claims are rooted in a small fact but generally the other 99% of the story is missing. To make legitimate money online or offline it takes one thing “Investment” and really that can be broken into three types of investment, the investment of TIME, the investment of MONEY and/or the investment of BOTH time and money! Don’t be fooled by a well written headline “Get Rich Quick” does not exist.
So the question we must ask ourselves is can you make money using the Internet? The answer of course is yes. How do I know? I have made money online for years you just need to find the right way to make money online. I build my first website in 1997 and since then I have made money using the Internet through various ways to make money online. The only solid lesson I have learned is Get Rich Quick does not exist online any more that it does offline. All business takes Investment so forget the wild claims of do nothing, get paid all quick and easy.
Not All Online Money Making Opportunities Are For Everybody
This is something we all should remember when considering any business online or off. You are not likely to be successful with every legitimate make money from home idea that comes around. Take this example: Let’s say you went to work for McDonalds on Monday and by Friday you discovered you hated hamburgers. Hated the smell, taste and preparation of hamburgers. Does that mean that McDonalds is a rotten company? No. It simply means that this job opportunity did not fit your personality. Some online opportunities just won’t fit your personality.
Some years ago I was involved in a new business product launch. My part in this business was to speak at various events and motivate people to buy product and join the business. The product was good, the people were good and I have always been an adequate speaker. But for whatever reason I hated the position. I never was comfortable in it. Online opportunities can be the same. Some opportunities just don’t fit.
This is the point where many people who did not do their research or had dreams of getting rich quick cry Foul! Because they earned little or nothing it must be the companies fault-right? The truth be told they didn’t work the online opportunity, or never understood the opportunity or it just was not right for them. What is their next action – find a scam post website to voice their complaint to. Really these sites play an important role but they should be used when a real scam exists.
Where I see the biggest problem is people signup to make money online from home and then they find out it takes “Investment” of time and money. What legitimate business doesn’t? There are no free lunches when it comes to business and that is why people use the “dog eats dog” line when referring to business. If everything was free how would anyone get paid? Really, if people who are not in a position to invest money in an online opportunity they should stay away from online business opportunities and lean towards a legitimate work at home job.
There are many ways to make money online. Do your home work or use a site that has done some homework for you. These type of sites provides information about online jobs and business opportunities. Some do comparisons and give results based on what they have tested.
It’s ok to be tempted to make money online, if you do your homework and never invest more than you can afford to lose – that goes for both Time and Money.
